Last 2 weeks of school

Life has been fun! I am SO glad I had better roomies than last year!  I am REALLY excited for the Christmas break! I am not really enjoying this semester class wise!  I am glad to be almost done! I am looking forward to being at home and not having to worry about homework and teachers and anything else.  I am excited to work with Luke and to hang out with all my Mesa friends! Life will seem easier for a bit.. and I will be able to redirect my focus to next semester classes.  But I need time away from classes, school , and Thatcher for longer than 4 days!

Christmas....where did Thanksgiving go?

Well here we are again skipping, what I think to be one of the most important holidays,  Thanksgiving! We jump from buying pounds and pounds of candy to give to the children at Halloween to then buy even more AFTER Halloween  because it is on sale and we know we will have a sweet tooth between now and whenever... and now we slip easily to Christmas. The stores are promoting the newest toys so children will say " Mommy Mommy I WANT IT NOW!!!" Each section of the store giving off a little Christmas cheer and color pulling people in for a closer look at the new tool chest for dad... the new pair of slippers for mom . But we are skipping the most important part of the store... the little Seasonal isle that reminds us of Thanksgiving.  Why does Thanksgiving have to hide in a little corner why Christmas jumps out from behind Halloween and says HOHOHO! It's silly.... I enjoy Thanksgiving I love that I get to spend a holiday devoted to eating amazing food and giving thanks for all the things in my life! In my family on my dad's side we have this amazing tradition of pulling out a special table cloth that we all write at least one thing we are thankful for that  year.  I love it! I can't wait to start it with my own family (whenever that will be)! Well I just don't like seeing this amazing holdiday pushed under the rug when what we should do is blow it up so big it's too hard to ignore. So we remember that there are things to be thankful for even if it is just the little things!

college second year!

Hey! So... just an update... I have moved back to Thatcher for another wonderful year at EAC or for those who haven't been reading or don't know anything about my life.... Eastern Arizona College...  I have 3 amazing roomies this semester Adri Nielson, Denise Lovell, and Kristy Partridge.  Adri is loud and fun she has a fun personality and she is a music major.  Denise works at the school cafeteria and takes like one class a semester.  Kristy is a general education major she is really fun and I have had a blast getting to know her!  As of late... I have just been going to classes.   I work for a company called western watts  and I find it VERY annoying! But.. It's just nice to have some extra money!

Sundays

Sundays! I love the peace of just going to church and not having to do ANYTHING! I love sitting at home with my roomies and laughing at nothing, because we can.    I love watching the sunset as we walk down the street just enjoying each others company! Sunday's are an amazing way to feel the peace of doing only what the Lord would want us to do!

.... EFY catch up! Flag 1

Hey ok....... so this is like major catch up time for me!......

EFY 1
Flagstaff 1
I was scared to death... I drove to Flagstaff on Saturday I had training and meetings all afternoon.... met a bunch of counselors and calmed down a lot..... Sunday went to church with counselors and that evening we had our session directors message and we were given our assignments. I had 8 girls.... I was excited nervous happy scarred and many other emotions but none had the affect I had as I prayed for each of my girls! I felt love and joy for each one of them. I had 14-15 yr old kids! I made their door tags and met with my co- counselors Derrelyn and Brian! I had known Derrelyn from EAC (school) and was glad I knew someone. Brian was awesome and really funny!
Monday- Check in
Scary.... at 8:30 we had meeting and a quick devotional where we got our duties for the week.... I was kinda bummed I had dance duty both Dances.... then we went to get set up for check in which was at 11 am.... at 10:30 kids parents and siblings began to line up in the hallway. I was worried again I felt a jolt of unreadiness.... 11 hits and kids swarm into the check out room.... after check in duty we had maybe 20 min to run up to our rooms grab our gear and meet the kids.... now it's 1:30 and we start to explain rules and expectations for the week. after the "Meet your counselor it was time to meet the company our company name was Fountains of Water.... I found it strange but cool. We met and played some games and then it was time for the kids to meet the session director, Brother Layton. That was fun then it was dinner time! After dinner it was time for FHE and after FHE it was time to talk about and set some goals and have a devotional then Lights Out.
